Kyruus Announces Expansion with Providence St. Joseph Health to Further Enterprise-Wide Patient Access and Provider Data Management

Leading Health System Enhances Consumer Experience With New Self-Service Options

Boston, MA – October 3, 2019 – Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced that Banner Health, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the US, has begun offering online scheduling for consumers through Kyruus ProviderMatch® for Consumers. The launch is the latest step in the health system’s digital front door initiative, for which it won the Marketers That Matter® Customer Experience Award in 2019.

Banner Health’s launch of online scheduling follows its rollout of a new consumer-facing provider search experience with Kyruus last year. After building a detailed directory of more than 10,000 providers in the KyruusOne® platform, the health system deployed ProviderMatch for Consumers to give consumers a more modern, efficient way to search for providers on its website. Already enabling consumers to search based on a range of key matching criteria, Banner Health has now expanded this to include filtering based on which providers offer online booking. From there, an integration with the health system’s EHR platform allows consumers to choose an appointment based on real-time availability and complete the booking process without leaving ProviderMatch.

“In order to earn and retain the loyalty of today’s healthcare consumers, we know it’s critical to make it simple to access our providers and healthcare services,” said Alexandra Morehouse, Chief Marketing Officer at Banner Health. “After introducing our new provider search experience, offering online appointment booking was the natural next step, and we’re thrilled to be bringing this to fruition for consumers in our communities.”

Banner Health has started offering online scheduling for a subset of its providers and will be continuously expanding the number of providers enabled for this option over the course of the next several months.

“Online scheduling has rapidly risen from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘must have’ for health systems over the last few years, as consumer research has shown the increasingly influential role this option plays in provider selection,” said Graham Gardner, CEO of Kyruus. “We’ve been honored to support Banner Health’s consumer-centric initiatives to-date and are excited to build on this with online scheduling through ProviderMatch.”
